Briefly, I will try to recap our adventures. For Holy Thursday dinner, we had lamb shank, spinach salad, and applesauce with Naciem and Lisa before attending Mass while my mother watched Andrew and Lucy. For Good Friday, we attended Stations at noon which were outside (and therefore, more fascinating for Andrew and Lucy by the mere fact we were outside), ate dinner cooked by Naciem, and went to the Good Friday service with both our children. Lucy passed out about halfway through, while Andrew finally noticed the circles everyone walks in when exiting and returning to their pews; Andrew also kissed Jesus' feet! For Holy Saturday, we went to Chris's parents' house to visit with them, his sister and her family, and his brother. We had lunch, an Easter Egg hunt, lots of outdoor time, and then we parted ways to attend Easter Vigil while my mom watched Andrew and Lucy. Andrew fell asleep at 6pm, but woke up after 11pm and wanted to stay up for an hour or two before falling back asleep. To celebrate Easter, we went to my grandparents' house for snack, lunch, croquet, bridge, chasing after Andrew (my cousin and his girlfriend helped out, too!), Lucy's first climbing the stairs adventure, and dessert. I love Holy Week.
Additionally, I've had a fairly good and productive break from work and have enjoyed (for the most part) spending the time with my kids. This week has been full of the usual laundry, cooking, dishes, sweeping, and picking up of toys, but also has included a lot of errands for my car (oil change and tire rotation and balance) and house organization. The goal has been to not only get the house back to its normal furniture and accessory arrangements, but also to improve upon current organization. I might elaborate on this in another post, but for now...
Highlights of time with my children:
- Lucy's first 8 steps in a row at the Honda dealership, while trying to escape the kid play area.
- Lucy continuing to love drinking water through a straw.
- Lucy's abundant laughter and joy, even with a cold.
- Andrew's every abundant energy, even with a cold.
- Andrew feeding Lucy a(n asiago cheese) bagel at Panera while waiting for Sears Auto to finish with my car.
- Andrew surprising me by knowing most of his lowercase letters.
- Andrew running a large truck into the high chair at my parents' house and getting a huge welt on his forehead that fortunately decreased in size by morning.
- Andrew hitting his head on the toilet while trying to remove his pajama bottoms.
- Andrew always wanting to go to the store or Target; most often, I'm discovering that for Andrew, store and Target are interchangeable.
- Lucy continuing her stair climbing adventures, though this time at my parents' house.
- Andrew successfully peeing in the toilet multiple times.
