Lucy - Preschool

Preschool Open House

On Thursday, I went to Lucy's first parent/teacher conference. She's in a TuTh class with the same teacher and co-teacher Andrew had so I didn't have any questions about the classroom environment or anything and the conference went really quickly. It was nice to hear her teacher verbalize what came home on her progress report, though and give a few examples because I could then better picture how well Lucy's actually doing.

• Earlier in the year, Lucy and another girl would sit next to a homesick girl in circle and comfort her. Lucy would pat her back and tell her "it's okay," which she does to Patrick sometimes at home.
• Lucy is one of three children who would go stand in line when asked.
• It's apparently a skill most of the kids have to work on because they're not used to standing in line at the beginning of the year.
• Lucy moves easily from activity to activity, without lingering at whatever she's doing.

I was wondering how this had been going since at home, it's sometimes difficult to get her to move on from what she's currently involved in to do something else.
She enjoys playing with the toy kitchen at school in addition to all art activities.
Lucy, on her own, has told me she likes circle time, the playground, and painting.
